Lead Cleaning Crew Member

The Lead Cleaning Crew Member would be responsible for assisting in directing the day-to-day cleaning operations of BCI, Skills Center and Elm location, totaling 5 buildings.  This would include employee trainings, daily/nightly inspections, and maintaining BCI cleaning quality standards. Will be working along side the crew and helping with the daily cleaning and filling in when crew is short. Provide support for the employees by giving them direction needed to perform the work, conducting themselves in a courteous and professional manner through their actions, work ethic attendance and dress.

 
Duties:

  • Maintain cleaning standards and ensure the cleaning crew carry out their duties as required. Ensure the completion of tasks are tracked by digital checklist /paper checklist. 

  • Will be main contact for employees to address issues, scheduling conflicts and notify of absences, etc. 

  • Distribute duties fairly, which may include reassigning cleaning assistance as needed. 

  • Assist with perform cleaning tasks.

  • Manage and de-escalade employee conflicts and issues as they arrive. 

  • Communicate problems promptly to the Operations Manager to ensure a quick resolution. 

  • Performing inventory of supplies and order products as needed. 

  • Recycle BCI cans on a weekly or bi weekly basis depending on the amount collected.

  • Ensure all cleaning staff are aware of and familiar with correct use of materials and safety regulations. 

  • Promote health and safety within the team and raise awareness amongst all staff of appropriate health and safety regulations. 

  • Perform nightly inspections of all areas to ensure they have been cleaned as well as ensure facilities are locked and secured. 

  • Responsible for all crew members to attend the regular BCI safety trainings and drills. This will also require reviewing results with supervisor and logging information into our BCI document center.

  • Monthly quality clean inspection is done which consists of walking through all areas and taking pictures of areas that need improvement and following up with responsible person and noting when task has been corrected. 

  • Meet regularly with supervisor/manager to discuss performance progress of all crew members and conduct yearly performance appraisals on each of the crew members. 

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license

Experience:
2+ years performing commercial janitorial functions or quality inspections. Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities desired. Good communication and interaction skills required. 


Physical Requirements:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Use fine and gross motor skills. Able to push or pull 25lbs. Lift and carry up to 30 lbs. of dead weight. Able to reach, turn and twist above and below the waist.
