Vice President, Accounting
and Finance

BCI is seeking a Vice President, Accounting and Finance. 

Summary:

The Vice President of Accounting and Finance is a key member of Boone Center’s executive management team, working together with other key officers, managers and the board of directors to ensure the successful development and outcome of the organization’s business and social missions. This Vice President’s primary responsible is to ensure the financial well-being of the organization.


Accounting and Finance:

  • Prepare and publish timely and accurate financial statements.

  • Manage daily cash flow through the timely collection of customer accounts receivable, payment of vendor accounts payable and payroll funding.

  • Forecast future cash flow and oversee operational strategy to ensure liquidity.

  • Facilitate and oversee the development of operating and program budgets.

  • Monitor budget performance, report variances and assist management team develop corrective action strategy as needed.

  • Provide customer data for sales forecasting and performance monitoring.

  • Direct and develop accounting department staff maintaining standard operating procedures and cross training.

  • Support operations and programs by contributing financial information, analysis and recommendations that support the achievement of organizational objectives.

  • Establish critical metrics for production, productivity and customer profitability.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement. Resolve problems.

  • Develop financial strategies for forecasting capital, facilities and staff.

  • Coordinate external audits and tax return preparation.

  • Maintain regulatory compliance.

  • Serve as point-of-contact for third party financial services, investments and insurance brokers.

  • Ensure effective internal control and maintain company policy.

 

Information Technologies:

  • Management of the organization’s information technology including computer hardware, software, internal staff and third party IT vendors.

  • Ensure implementation and ongoing development of company software including manufacturing, accounting, human resources and programs.

  • Ensure information systems are secure and staff members properly trained.

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial reports for board of directors. Participate in board meetings and strategic planning sessions.

  • Prepare State and County funding applications and complete all reporting requirements in a timely manner.

  • Work with Human Resources to provide competitive benefit plans and worker’s compensation insurance.

  • Purchase and monitor commercial insurance programs.

  • Participate and support social mission initiatives and fund raising events.

  • Other projects or support as requested by organization, CEO or board.

  • Financial accounting & management reporting

  • Reporting to board of directors

  • Audit & tax return management

  • Financial management of State & County funding

  • Report profitability at customer and product levels

  • Problem solving & promote process improvement

  • Corporate finance & cash flow

  • Commercial & employee benefit insurance programs

  • Assist with customer pricing and costing

  • Budget development

  • Strategic planning and vision

  • Contract management

  • Serve as 403(B) Trustee


Qualifications:

MBA or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or equivalent experience. Certified Public Accountant certification a plus.


Experience:

Minimum 10 years’ experience in accounting and financial management practices. Experienced senior manager with proven process improvement track record. Experience in a manufacturing environment. Work experience with a non-profit organization is a plus. Proficiency with accounting & manufacturing software, word processing, and spreadsheets. Solid GAAP and financial reporting technical skills.
