True Manufacturing, MillerCoors/Summit, Kloppenburg Honored
Boone Center, Inc. (BCI) recently recognized several key supporters with special year-end awards.
MillerCoors and Summit Distributing were jointly awarded BCI’s 2017 Award of Excellence. Together, the companies partnered with BCI as a first-time Presenting Sponsor of the organization's largest fundraiser, Wing Ding. Continued support came in the form of signage and donations. Summit, located in Earth City, is Missouri’s largest beer distributor and a strong partner of the MillerCoors brand. Receiving the award was Brian Nale, MillerCoors Senior Chain Account Executive.
Receiving BCI’s 2017 Above and Beyond Award was St. Charles resident Geri Kloppenburg. Geri’s unfailing support of BCI’s mission to provide productive, fulfilling employment for adults with disabilities shows in her incredible volunteer efforts. She is a familiar face at BCI-St. Peters where she frequently helps out in the lunch room and with special events and fundraisers. Geri’s son Adam works at BCI and her husband Ron is a member of BCI’s Board of Directors.
And finally, True Manufacturing was awarded BCI’s 2017 Community Partner of the Year Award. True sent assembly work to BCI’s adults with disabilities, gave BCI special pricing on commercial-grade refrigerators for their new lunchroom in August, and is actively mentoring BCI in the method of lean manufacturing. True, located in O’Fallon, has been an industry leader in commercial refrigeration since 1945.
“We would like to thank all of our supporters for a fantastic year,” said Tony Spielberg, CEO. “We are inspired by your generosity and grateful for your willingness to make a difference in the lives of adults with disabilities.”
