BCI Adds Barbecue for 21st Annual Wing Ding
Boone Center Inc. (BCI) is expanding the 21st Annual Wing Ding by adding barbecue to the all-you-can-eat menu. Restaurants and sponsors are being actively recruited now for the Thursday, June 20th fundraiser taking place at the St. Charles Family Arena.
“All-you-can-eat chicken wings will always be the heart of the Wing Ding,” said BCI CEO Tony Spielberg. “But this year, we are spicing things up by adding barbecue. Our ticketed guests get another food to enjoy while more of our fantastic, local restaurants get a chance to participate, all in support of a great cause.”
So far, the response has been favorable. Brewskeez Smokehouse & Music, winner of both the People’s Choice and Judges’ Choice awards last year, has already signed up as a participating restaurant for wings. A new participant, Cooper’s American Pub & Grill, was the first to sign up under the new barbecue category.
Participation is being limited to 10 each for wings and barbecue, for a total of 20 restaurants. Prizes will be awarded under both categories. Restaurants signing up before April 1st will receive special incentives including a $250 food credit, two volunteer servers, and four free Wing Ding tickets to use for in-restaurant promotion.
Sponsorship opportunities ranging from $200 to $15,000 are also available. Complete details are available online at www.boonecenter.com/wing-ding.
The Wing Ding, the “biggest and best charity happy hour in town,” is historically held the third Thursday in June and is BCI’s largest fundraiser. The Wing Ding was first held in 1999 and raises awareness and money for the organization and its efforts to provide and expand employment opportunities for adults with disabilities.
