BCI to Begin Re-Opening in Waves to Adults with Disabilities on May 4

BCI is pleased to announce it will begin re-opening to adults with disabilities served under its Organizational Employment program on Monday, May 4. The re-opening will occur in waves at BCI’s facilities in St. Peters and Moscow Mills, with only a percentage of the employees returning each week.
The Organizational program, which provides meaningful work to 250 adults with disabilities, was suspended due to COVID-19 on Monday, March 16.
All employees and their contacts were notified by email on Tuesday, April 28 and sent location-specific Return to Work and Facility Action Plans. The documents outline the wave schedule, as well as the expanded sanitizing and new HVAC, quarantine, and social distancing practices to ensure BCI environments remain as safe as possible for all.
Under the wave return plan, a new group of employees will be called back to work each week, with the last group returning June 8. Each employee will receive a call the week before they have been scheduled to return.
“We have planned this re-opening very carefully to make it as safe and smooth as possible,” said Ron Kloppenburg, CEO. “We truly appreciate all of our returning employees waiting patiently until they are called back to work. This will help us stay on plan, and that’s really important.”
Until they are called back, all employees are encouraged to continue completing the daily trainings that began on April 7. The trainings are sent by email.
“Everyone is excited about returning to work,” said Kloppenburg. “We can’t tell you how thrilled we will be to see our employees because we have truly missed them all.”
